Harley Oil Cooler
Choosing the appropriate Harley oil cooler is important!
Common sense tell you that the efficiency of an oil cooler is dictated by the length of the cooling oil passages, the number of fins, the area of finning as a cooling surface, exposure to air, air temperature, motorcycle speed and internal construction of the cooler lines.
Common sense tell you that the efficiency of an oil cooler is dictated by the length of the cooling oil passages, the number of fins, the area of finning as a cooling surface, exposure to air, air temperature, motorcycle speed and internal construction of the cooler lines.
Some Harley oil coolers have turbulation, which intermixes the oil inside the cooling passages to allow maximal oil exposure to the cooling effects of the finning.
A good Harley oil coolers will cool engine oil by approximately 25 degrees. Naturally that will change with differing conditions.
